Enlightened, Energized, Enlivened

The following studies are intended to...
-
Deepen our understanding of Scripture, God's revelation to us.

Deepen our love for our Savior and others for whom He died.
-
Deepen our understanding of where we fit in Christ's church and God's world.
-
Deepen our ability to apply, under the Holy Spirit's direction, the power and promise of the resurrection to our daily lives.
Even those who try faithfully to follow Jesus Christ may find defining spirituality – or at least what is distinctively Christian about their own beliefs and practices - a significant challenge. In contrast to competing forms of spirituality that might be characterized as moral improvement, celebration of the divine presence, or growth toward holiness, Lutheran spirituality is always a return to the forgiveness of sins. This is a study of the truth that comes out of God's mouth. Agreement with that truth is called confession. This study is...

In reference to the Old Testament Scriptures, Jesus told the Jews of His day: “You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me...” (John 5:39-40). How do the Old Testament minor prophets testify about Jesus, the Son of God?

From the time of our conception to the moment of our death, we are bound by the restrictions of time. God created time to provide orderliness in his world; seen throughout Scripture as well as in our daily lives.
One day time will end and it will be replaced by a timeless eternity, where God’s people will forever rejoice in the presence of the Lord.

Biblical Principles That Guide Us In Examining Life Issues
We examine 6 biblical principles that help us to make the right decisions about life - from the beginning of life at conception to the grave (and beyond!)
(March, 2026)

Our Savior repeatedly assured his followers that trials would be the rule, not the exception. Paul wrote, “Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of...” (2 Timothy 3:12-14).
How fitting those words are today. From this rapidly changing world, come attacks on our family structure, advances in technology, political unrest and open hostility to God’s people around the globe. These lessons afford us the opportunity to understand the problem, discover what God has to say, and go forward with renewed hope in the Lord.

In the books of Job, Psalms and Proverbs, the Lord repeatedly offers his people true wisdom. Contrary to the fancies of this world, wisdom is not found in books or classrooms, at the feet of professors or in the hard drives of computers or buried deep within AI's LLM. At best these can only impart superficial knowledge. However, in the pages of his Word, the Lord presents his people with the gift of true wisdom, wisdom necessary to navigate through this life and attain the joys of heaven.
